The top-rated hotel room for the upcoming World Cup in Dallas has become a favorite among English couples eager to experience a unique stay. Located at Southfork Ranch, famously known as the filming location for the iconic TV series “Dallas,” this exclusive room named after JR Ewing requires a nightly rate of 1,978 dollars (£1,475) – a nod to the show’s premiere year of 1978. Positioned near the stadium where England will kick off their World Cup campaign, the room has attracted significant interest from Three Lions fans, with visitors from various UK cities leaving their marks on the museum’s “where are you from wall.”

LuCretia Buckett, the operations manager, shared an interesting anecdote about a dedicated couple from London who flew to Dallas, stayed the night in JR’s bed, and then promptly flew back to England the next morning. The historical significance of Southfork Ranch as the primary filming site for the “Dallas” series from 1979 to 1989, excluding the initial year, adds to its appeal for fans.

The enduring popularity of “Dallas” in England and worldwide has continued to draw visitors to the ranch, including many who attribute their English language skills to watching the show with their relatives. LuCretia, who grew up close to the ranch, recalled the influx of fans once the site’s association with the series became widely known, leading to memorable encounters with Larry Hagman, the actor who portrayed JR Ewing.

The behind-the-scenes filming details shared by LuCretia shed light on the ranch’s selection process and the challenges faced by the cast during production. Despite the scorching Texan summer heat, which limited filming to the hottest months, the dedication of the actors and crew to their craft was evident. With the World Cup festivities in full swing, the museum anticipates a surge in visitors, underscoring the ongoing legacy of the beloved TV series and its enduring impact on fans across generations.

As England gears up to commence their World Cup journey in Dallas, the excitement among football enthusiasts is palpable. The team’s opening match against Croatia marks the beginning of their quest for World Cup glory, with subsequent games scheduled in Boston and New York. The historical connection between “Dallas” and English viewers, showcased by the enduring popularity of the series, adds a unique dimension to the World Cup fervor surrounding the iconic Southfork Ranch.
