England fans made their way to Dallas using various modes of transportation in anticipation of the World Cup opener against Croatia. Supporters from Spain, Scandinavia, and Australia were flocking to Texas as the highly anticipated match drew near. One fan, Sam Bannister, 41, hailing from Leeds, embarked on a 500-mile journey from Kansas City to Dallas to catch the 3 pm kickoff local time, sharing the driving responsibilities during the road trip.

Fan groups estimated that approximately 10,000 England supporters would be in attendance at the game and cautioned about the expected high temperatures during the match. Chris, accompanied by his friend Chris Thomas, 40, and residing in Kansas City, will be joined by fellow Brit Kye Martey and his American wife Sandi for the journey.

Expressing a mix of excitement and apprehension, Chris emphasized his hope for a strong performance from the England team. George Smith, a finance worker and Exeter City fan now residing in San Diego, California, was also gearing up to attend the England group matches. Accompanied by his son Charlie, 11, George planned to watch the games alongside fans from various other countries.

George had invested around $7,000 (£5,178) in tickets for himself and his family, with the potential cost rising to £12,000 depending on England’s progress in the tournament. As fans geared up for the World Cup excitement, the anticipation and enthusiasm were palpable as they prepared to cheer on their beloved team.
