A recent photo reveals debris scattered outside a residence following a car crashing into a pensioner’s home, resulting in two individuals sustaining severe injuries. Residents in the vicinity described the aftermath as chaotic when a vehicle collided with the property in Peterborough on Sunday evening, around 6 pm.
The incident occurred when a blue Ford Mondeo struck the front of the house after hitting parked cars on the street. A woman in her 70s inside the house and the male driver in his 40s were promptly taken to the hospital for treatment of their serious injuries.
Eyewitness Greg Hilliam, a nearby resident, recounted the chaotic scene as emergency services arrived. He mentioned hearing sirens but not the actual impact. Another neighbor, preferring anonymity, mentioned that their family was awakened by the commotion, with the car even breaking through the house’s hedge. The neighbor commended another resident who rushed to assist, labeling them a hero.
Furthermore, a separate witness recalled the loud sirens from the emergency response and expressed concern for potential severe injuries. Meanwhile, a nearby resident returning home found the scene alarming and wondered about the cause of the incident.
Police maintained a cordon at the location while conducting investigations on Monday. Cambridgeshire Constabulary issued a statement appealing for witnesses after the serious collision in Paston Ridings. The statement detailed the circumstances of the crash involving the Ford Mondeo, urging anyone with relevant information or dashcam footage to come forward for assistance in the investigation.
