A United Airlines flight was compelled to execute an emergency landing following an incident where an individual, described as an “unruly passenger,” reportedly attempted to breach the cockpit. The flight, United UA2005, had departed from Chicago en route to Minneapolis and was redirected to Dane County Regional Airport in Madison, Wisconsin, halfway through its journey on Friday evening.

The emergency landing was prompted by a disruptive passenger onboard, as confirmed by airline officials. Reports from several passengers on social media indicated that the individual was speaking loudly in Russian and engaged in a mid-flight altercation. Additionally, some passengers alleged that the individual tried to forcibly enter the cockpit.

United Airlines released a statement acknowledging the safe landing of the aircraft to address a “security concern with an unruly passenger.” The statement mentioned that United flight 2005 from Chicago to Minneapolis landed safely in Madison, Wisconsin, to handle the security issue and that the flight would resume its journey to Minneapolis later on Friday.

The Boeing 737 aircraft had a total of 147 passengers and six crew members on board, with no injuries reported during the incident.
