The British Foreign Office has recommended that UK citizens avoid traveling to Bahrain and Kuwait unless it is absolutely necessary due to the ongoing unpredictability in the region caused by the conflict between the US and Iran.

According to the latest travel advisory issued today, the FCDO has cautioned British nationals in the Middle East to expect flight cancellations, travel disruptions, and frequent airspace closures because of the escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran.

A statement from the Foreign Office highlighted the MOU between the US and Iran on June 17 regarding the Middle East conflict but emphasized that the situation in the region remains highly uncertain. Recent strikes and retaliatory actions by Iran, including attacks in Bahrain, against US military and civilian targets pose a risk for further escalations in the area.

The US Embassy in Manama also issued a warning on July 20, suggesting that Iran might target unspecified locations in central Manama. The Iranian regime’s previous announcements indicated intentions to target sites linked to the US and Israel, such as organizations, businesses, and institutions.

Similar advice has been given to British nationals in Kuwait, as both countries have been impacted by the conflict between the US and Iran. Bahrain has faced missile threats from Iran due to US military presence, while Kuwait has experienced drone attacks on its airport since the conflict began.
