Some Android users are facing a concerning issue where their phone batteries are draining quickly, even when the devices are not actively in use. This problem seems to have emerged following a recent software update. Reports indicate that users are now having to charge their phones multiple times a day to maintain battery life.

The battery drain bug is primarily affecting Google’s Pixel phone lineup, with the company acknowledging the issue and working on a fix. Impacted devices include the Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 7A models.

According to findings by tech observers at 9to5Google, the problem is linked to excessive CPU wakeups, causing the phone to consume power continuously even when idle. Users like Phil and Fz have expressed frustration over rapid battery depletion and slow charging speeds post the software update.

While some Pixel owners, such as Warren, have not encountered battery drain issues, Google is actively investigating the matter and is expected to provide a solution through an upcoming update. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing situation.
