A photograph has emerged showing the first meeting between Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Peter Mandelson, shortly before they were later seen with Jeffrey Epstein. The encounter took place at a National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) event in 1999 at Buckingham Palace. The event was part of the NSPCC’s Full Stop Campaign, focusing on combatting child abuse and changing public perceptions about cruelty to children. Both Andrew and Peter were actively involved in the campaign, with Peter serving as vice-chair and Andrew as chair, despite their later ties to Epstein.

Following their roles in the campaign, both Andrew and Peter have faced allegations of misconduct in public office related to Epstein. Despite denying any wrongdoing, they are currently under investigation by authorities.

In an interview with Hello! Magazine, Andrew expressed his commitment to combating child abuse as a father of two young children. However, Giles Pegram, the former NSPCC fundraising director, has since expressed regret for bringing Andrew and Peter together for the campaign, given the subsequent controversies involving Epstein.

Reflecting on the situation, Pegram acknowledged that with hindsight, he would have made different decisions regarding the appointments of Andrew and Peter. MPs recently voted against a motion to investigate Keir Starmer’s involvement in the Mandelson appointment.

The NSPCC has condemned the exploitation and abuse of vulnerable individuals, particularly in light of revelations from the Epstein scandal. The organization emphasized the importance of holding all individuals involved in such crimes accountable and ensuring justice for the victims.

The NSPCC expressed solidarity with the victims of these crimes, highlighting the need for their voices to be heard and for their experiences to guide future actions towards achieving justice and support.
