“Dabrowski and Krejcikova Advance at Cincinnati Open”

Ottawa’s Gabriela Dabrowski and Barbora Krejcikova from Czechia have progressed to the next round at the Cincinnati Open. They secured a victory against the fourth-seeded pair comprising Cristina Bucsa from Spain and Nicole Melichar-Martinez from the United States with a score of 6-3, 1-6, 10-4 in the Round of 32 of the women’s doubles event. This tournament marks the first time that Dabrowski and Krejcikova have teamed up.

In the upcoming Round of 16 match scheduled for Tuesday, they will be up against the unseeded Czech pair of Linda Noskova and Marie Bouzkova.

Meanwhile, Leylah Fernandez from Laval, Quebec, and her partner Sara Errani from Italy competed against Romania’s Sorana Cirstea and Mira Andreeva from Russia on Monday. Fernandez had previously faced a defeat against China’s Xiyu Wang in the women’s singles tournament’s second round on Sunday.
