Police are currently investigating allegations made by Reform UK against the leader of the Green Party, accusing them of “inciting murder” through a controversial social media post. The post in question, which has since been removed from Zack Polanski’s account, depicted a man wearing a black T-shirt with the phrase “We’re only making plans for Nigel” alongside a guillotine.

Following a public outcry, senior minister Pat McFadden emphasized the importance of responsibility among politicians in light of recent tragic events. McFadden stressed the need for caution in online interactions, referencing the tragic murder of former politician Ann Widdecombe.

Expressing concern over the post, Nigel Farage shared a screenshot of the image on social media and highlighted the potential legal implications of such content. Reform UK’s spokesperson for home affairs, Zia Yusuf, accused Polanski of encouraging violence and called on law enforcement to take action.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed that they are actively investigating the matter after receiving a report regarding the controversial social media post. Meanwhile, the Green Party clarified that Polanski disavows the message on the T-shirt and unknowingly accepted being tagged in the post containing multiple images.

In response to the controversy, the Green Party emphasized the need for respectful discourse and unity in public discussions, urging all parties to promote kindness and avoid further division.
