A man sought refuge in a bathroom while being pursued around a residence by two women, one of whom was the mother of his child, before being attacked by both of them with knives.
Warren Harper had been socializing with his ex-partner Demi Oliver, 26, and Kelly Rees, 36, when the incident occurred.
Residents nearby reported hearing loud noises and music after a night of drinking at a property in Precelly Place, Wales.
According to Wales Online, the trio were acquainted with each other and resided in close proximity, with Oliver and Mr. Harper having previously been in a relationship and sharing a child.
The violent episode unfolded on July 27, 2024, as Mr. Harper was chased around the property and eventually barricaded himself in the bathroom while Oliver and Rees aggressively demanded entry.
During the altercation, Mr. Harper attempted to leave but encountered Rees, who was holding a knife after consuming crack cocaine. As he tried to retrieve his belongings, Rees inflicted a cut on his wrist with a Stanley knife.
Additionally, he was slashed by Oliver, who was armed with a different blade.
Prosecutor Dean Pullen informed Swansea Crown Court that Harper, in a state of panic, contemplated escaping through a window upstairs but ultimately exited the house downstairs, sustaining severe wounds while fleeing.
He was rushed to Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest by ambulance, requiring surgery for stab wounds on his wrist and arm.
Both Oliver and Rees admitted to unlawful wounding and faced sentencing at Swansea Crown Court. Barristers David Singh and Ian Ibrahim provided mitigating factors for Oliver and Rees, respectively, but Judge Huw Rees cautioned that custodial sentences were imminent for both defendants, despite the incident occurring two years prior.
Judge Rees emphasized the gravity of the injuries sustained by the victim, stating they were significant wounds rather than superficial cuts.
Oliver, residing in Precelly Place, Milford Haven, received a 17-month prison sentence.
Rees, from Waterloo Road, Hakin, who was already serving time for a robbery in Milford Haven, was handed an additional 27-month sentence.
