A young child suffered severe facial injuries after being attacked by a dog at a pub in Staffordshire. The incident occurred in the beer garden of The Wulstan in Wolstanton on a Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses described the child as being heavily bleeding, causing panic among pub guests who quickly called emergency services.
The toddler received initial treatment at the scene for the serious injuries before being transported to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further medical attention. Staffordshire Police confirmed that the child has since been discharged from the hospital.
An eyewitness, Philip Preece, who was present at the pub during the attack, identified the dog as possibly a Bulldog breed. He recounted the distressing scene where the child, enjoying a family moment, was suddenly rushed into the pub by his mother, both covered in blood. Preece mentioned that the dog was initially unleashed but was put on a lead after the incident.
Emergency services responded promptly to the situation, with an ambulance and paramedics attending to the child before transferring him to the hospital. The West Midlands Ambulance Service reported that the child received treatment for his injuries at the scene.
