British Airways pilots suffered from food poisoning after a layover, leading to one pilot being incapacitated. The pilots had a meal together at a hotel lounge in Hyderabad, India, during their journey to the UK. Despite one pilot needing oxygen mid-flight, the other two pilots continued working but later developed symptoms upon landing in London.

British Airways confirmed that passenger safety was not compromised and the flight proceeded safely. However, reports from the pilots’ union Balpa indicated concerns over previous complaints about hygiene at their hotel in Hyderabad. The affected pilots submitted Air Safety reports and samples for medical investigation to identify the source of the illness.

British Airways stated that they prioritize the well-being of their crew and are evaluating accommodation options in Hyderabad. An investigation has been launched by the airline to ensure the safety of customers and crew during future flights. The airline emphasized that the flight’s safety was never compromised despite the incident.
