A manhunt is ongoing for a father who caused a fatal crash while driving under the influence, resulting in the death of his infant daughter. Emmanuel Sakyi, convicted of causing death by dangerous driving, was sentenced to 15 years in prison in his absence. Sakyi, 31, of Garraways in Milton Keynes, failed to attend his trial at Aylesbury Crown Court and is currently evading authorities.
The tragic incident occurred in December 2022 on Bletcham Way in Milton Keynes when Sakyi collided with another vehicle while driving recklessly. His seven-month-old daughter Emmanuela, who was in the passenger seat with her mother, sustained critical injuries and tragically passed away in the hospital.
Evidence presented in court revealed that Sakyi was driving while significantly above the legal alcohol limit and displayed extremely reckless driving behavior. He was reported to have driven his vehicle on the wrong side of the road for a considerable distance before causing the collision.
As efforts intensify to locate Sakyi, a reward of up to £7,500 has been announced by Crimestoppers for any information leading to his apprehension. Beth Simpson, Crimestoppers regional manager for South Central West, emphasized the urgency of the situation, urging individuals with knowledge of Sakyi’s whereabouts to come forward anonymously to assist in the case.
It is crucial to note that the reward will only be honored if information is provided directly to Crimestoppers. Individuals are advised not to approach Sakyi if seen but to immediately contact emergency services by dialing 999.
