Residents were instructed to evacuate an apartment building following a car crashing into a ground-floor flat last night. Emergency services quickly responded to the incident that occurred at the junction of Arkwright Way and Meadows Way in Nottingham between 9pm and 10pm on Friday.
Pictures from Ryehill House flats in The Meadows show a green BMW that has collided into an apartment, seemingly entering through a kitchen. The vehicle is visibly lodged inside the building, with a nearby street sign knocked over and debris scattered around, including bricks, glass, and foliage.
Authorities have cordoned off the area, maintaining a presence at the crash site on Saturday morning. The four-story flat complex is situated near a bustling dual carriageway that links the city to West Bridgford.
According to reports by Nottingham Post, residents in the three flats above the impacted apartment have been advised to vacate due to potential structural concerns. A resident from another ground-floor flat described being startled awake by a loud noise and discovering the unexpected presence of a garage outside, questioning how it ended up there.
