A tragic incident unfolded in Thailand as a bar in the Chatuchak District of Bangkok was engulfed in a massive fire, claiming the lives of numerous individuals. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul confirmed that 27 bodies were recovered at the scene.
The bar, known locally as Rong Beer Na Lat Phrao, was a popular establishment in the area. Witnesses observed a group of people gathered outside the bar before thick smoke suddenly billowed from the entrance, followed by flames bursting out as people tried to escape.
Dramatic footage captured the chaotic scene as individuals fled amid intense flames and thick black smoke. Despite efforts from a bystander using a fire extinguisher, emergency services had to intervene to combat the blaze.
Firefighters from multiple stations battled the fire for about half an hour before gaining control. The aftermath revealed charred furniture and interior damage, with emergency responders assessing the situation. Tragically, it was discovered that several individuals sought refuge in the bar’s toilets but succumbed to the flames.
This unfortunate event adds to a history of similar tragedies in Thailand, including a fatal fire at a music bar in 2022 and a nightclub blaze in 2009 that claimed dozens of lives.
