A man has admitted to the killing of a mother of three who was discovered deceased in her residence in Portsmouth. Charlie James Jeans, aged 31, changed his plea to guilty during a session at Portsmouth Crown Court on Monday. Samantha Murphy, 32, was found dead at a property on Wadham Road in Portsmouth on June 5, 2025, prompting a police response to the scene following reports of a body on the premises.
After the tragic finding, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary initiated a murder inquiry, leading to the apprehension of two individuals on suspicion of murder.
