A peace agreement between the United States and Iran is set to be signed soon, allowing unrestricted access to the Strait of Hormuz and imposing restrictions on Iran’s nuclear activities. President Donald Trump announced the imminent signing on social media, stating that the agreement would pave the way for the opening of the Strait of Hormuz to all vessels. However, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, contradicted this timeline, citing US inconsistencies as a reason for the delay and emphasizing Iran’s caution.

President Trump also issued a warning that if the agreement does not progress smoothly, the US has alternative measures at its disposal. Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed optimism about the peace deal, stating that they are closer than ever to reaching an agreement. Israeli President Isaac Herzog extended birthday wishes to President Trump, thanking him for his efforts in addressing Iran’s perceived threats.

In response to the ongoing negotiations, Iran reiterated its stance that the peace deal would not be signed imminently, labeling Trump’s insistence on a quick signing as a personal publicity stunt. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps criticized Trump’s eagerness to sign the agreement on his birthday, viewing it as a test for Iran’s negotiation team.

Additionally, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer pledged support for the peace deal during a phone call with President Trump. Both leaders emphasized the importance of restoring freedom of navigation in the region to alleviate global economic impacts. The signing of the peace deal remains a topic of speculation, with conflicting statements from various stakeholders adding uncertainty to the process.
