The venue for England’s inaugural World Cup match has been nicknamed “The Palace in Dallas” due to its remarkable features. As fans flock to Texas, they will be awestruck by the stadium, typically home to the NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys.

With a construction cost exceeding £1 billion, the stadium boasts one of the world’s largest video screens. The high-definition HDTV display extends the entire length of the pitch, from one penalty box to the other.

The stadium’s dimensions are so vast that even the Statue of Liberty could stand at the halfway line without touching the retractable roof. This massive dome can open or close in just 12 minutes, earning the title of the world’s “largest air-conditioned room.”

Anticipating an 80,000 capacity sell-out for England’s first group match, visitors have marveled at the stadium’s grandeur, with one fan comparing it favorably to Wembley Stadium. Constructed with 200,000 cubic yards of concrete and 22,000 tonnes of steel, the stadium is a symbol of architectural marvel.

Referred to as the AT&T stadium but temporarily renamed the Dallas stadium for the tournament, the venue has faced controversies during its construction. Some residents were compelled to sell their homes against their wishes, prompting backlash and criticism.

As Liverpool fan Ben Laing expressed his admiration for the stadium’s impressive features, visitors were reminded of strict security measures, including restrictions on carrying firearms. Despite the array of bars and restaurants within the concourses, prices for beverages are notably high.

FIFA regulations permit fans to bring in sealed water bottles, although stadium prices for refreshments remain steep. Noteworthy is the stadium’s art collection, showcasing museum-worthy pieces throughout its expansive public areas.

Hosting the highest number of matches among all venues, the stadium remains a top-tier sports facility. England could potentially return for a semi-final if they secure a second-place finish in their group, with the comfort of the stadium’s air conditioning ensuring a level playing field for all teams.
