Tomorrow, the UK is set to experience thunderstorms as two weather fronts move across the country, as per the latest forecast from the Met Office. Rain is also predicted in nearly all regions on Saturday. Additionally, some areas may encounter unusually strong winds during the weekend.
According to Met Office meteorologist Alex Deakin, a large portion of England will wake up to rain on Saturday, making for a damp and grey start with rain spreading across most areas. While some regions like the north-east of Scotland may see clearer skies and occasional brightening throughout the morning, another band of rain is expected to follow suit.
The second weather front approaching will bring heavy showers and an escalating risk of thunderstorms. Northern Ireland and Wales are identified as areas with the highest likelihood of thunderstorms. In the afternoon, parts of the south-west of England may experience drier conditions, but the weather will remain blustery with uncharacteristically strong winds for this season.
Temperatures are anticipated to be around or slightly below the June average, ranging from 15C in Northern Ireland, Wales, and the south-west to 19C in the eastern part of England. Southern regions are expected to feel cooler due to the persistent strong winds as per the forecast.
The BBC’s weather outlook suggests mostly cloudy skies on Saturday with ongoing rain from the south-west. Later in the day, some sunny intervals and isolated thundery showers may develop, particularly in the south, where it will be windy. Sunday is likely to bring varying cloud cover and showers, mainly in the west, which could intensify at times. Monday is expected to see heavy rain moving in from the west, giving way to sunshine once the rain clears. Tuesday could bring a mix of scattered thundery showers and sunny spells.
