The body of a suspected double-murderer was discovered in a river after he admitted to killing a mother and her daughter. Kenji Oyama, 42, allegedly fatally stabbed his neighbors in Japan but was let go by police despite confessing to the crime. Authorities now suspect him of being involved in the murders of Sumie Tanaka, 74, and her 52-year-old daughter, Chihiro, who were found dead in their home in Tatsuno. Oyama had previously mentioned the murder and the location to police but provided no further details. Due to the lack of evidence, the confession was not reported to homicide detectives, and Oyama was released. However, he was later spotted near the victims’ residence, prompting a manhunt that ended when his body was discovered in a river. An autopsy revealed minor hand injuries and signs of malnutrition, although the exact cause of death could not be determined due to the advanced state of decomposition.
