This disclosure followed Trump’s fourth medical assessment at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center since resuming office, with the president set to turn 80 next month.
Barbabella’s report highlighted Trump’s robust health across various aspects, citing his strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical functions. The physician emphasized that Trump’s demanding daily routine, which includes numerous high-level meetings, public appearances, and regular physical exercise, contributes to his overall well-being. Barbabella further noted that both Trump’s cognitive and physical performances were outstanding, confirming his ability to fulfill all responsibilities as Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.
Typically, presidents undergo a single annual visit to Walter Reed, but Trump had two visits in 2025, one of which he initially claimed was for an MRI but later revealed to be for a CT scan. During the recent examination, Trump’s weight was recorded at 238 pounds, a rise from the 224 pounds noted during his April 2025 check-up.
Concerns regarding Trump’s health have centered on various issues, including the noticeable bruising on the back of his hands, reportedly from frequent handshaking. The memo attributed the bruising to minor soft tissue irritation due to regular handshaking while taking aspirin for cardiovascular prevention. Additionally, Trump achieved a perfect score of 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a test commonly used to detect memory problems or cognitive decline.
