A young man, aged 19, tragically passed away after entering a lake in Nottinghamshire, adding to the total of 15 water-related fatalities during the recent hot weather period. Authorities received reports around 2:30 pm on Thursday that the man had gone into the water at Balderton Lake in New Balderton, near Newark. Emergency services responded, retrieved the teenager from the lake, and provided initial medical treatment before transporting him to the hospital.
Nottinghamshire Police later confirmed the unfortunate death of the young man. The police mentioned that the family has been notified and is receiving support from trained personnel. The incident is not deemed suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
