Daytime temperatures are forecasted to peak at 18C on Tuesday before dropping to 15C on Wednesday, marking a significant contrast to the hot weather seen in recent days.
Maps showing temperature anomalies for Tuesday indicate that large areas in Scotland, Northern Ireland, North Wales, northern England, and eastern regions will experience unusually low temperatures for this time of year.
The GFS weather model suggests that the highest temperature across the UK on Wednesday morning could be just 8C, signaling a notable temperature decrease nationwide.
The Met Office anticipates cooler conditions from Tuesday to Thursday as northerly winds prevail. Showers are expected, but they are likely to be lighter and less frequent than over the weekend.
The BBC forecast predicts dry weather for most of the UK on Tuesday, with some showers in the southwest and parts of the north. Wednesday is expected to be cloudy with scattered showers in the far north and west. Thursday may bring more showers to the north and west, with the east remaining mostly dry but windy.
Fortunately, the Met Office foresees a return to average temperatures later in the month. The outlook for May 7 to May 16 suggests changeable weather with periods of rain or showers, interspersed with drier and brighter conditions.
Overall, a shift towards wetter conditions is expected initially in the south and east, with the likelihood of low pressure systems moving northward later in the period. After a cold start, temperatures are forecasted to normalize to around average levels.
