Ensuring our well-being often requires additional guidance and assistance. With over 360 in-store pharmacies spread across the UK, catering to over half a million customers weekly, Tesco stands ready to lend a hand. Their pharmacies offer a seamless experience for picking up prescriptions, utilizing a range of healthcare services, and consulting their expert pharmacists while doing your regular shopping.

For many individuals, squeezing in crucial health check-ups amid hectic schedules can be a challenge. Turning to online sources for health-related queries can sometimes heighten anxiety rather than provide solace, especially when time is limited.

“This is why we provide prompt and convenient pharmacy services, health counsel, and a variety of health and wellness products in our pharmacies for our customers to access while in-store,” notes Tom Lye, Tesco’s health and wellness category director.

From flu vaccinations and preventive measures to weight management solutions, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies serve as a hub for friendly guidance. “Just a brief visit to the store can offer crucial peace of mind or the assistance our customers require,” Tom emphasizes.

Additionally, pharmacists can help save time by offering treatment for common ailments like sore throats, earaches, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need for a GP appointment.

Support is also available for chronic health conditions. “Our Tesco Pharmacists have undergone additional training from reputable organizations such as Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and the British Heart Foundation to provide insight, support, and aid in mitigating the risks of cancer, heart diseases, circulatory issues, and type 2 diabetes,” discloses Tom. “Simply approach the pharmacy counter during your Tesco visit and ask to speak with the pharmacist sporting a Let’s Talk badge.”

“Concerning heart health inquiries, our pharmacy teams are prepared to conduct a quick, friendly walk-in blood pressure check – no hassle, no appointment required,” assures Tom. “A brief in-store visit can offer peace of mind or prompt support if necessary.”

In the current year alone, Tesco Pharmacies have administered over 9,000 complimentary blood pressure tests to customers – a service that is proving highly impactful.

The advantages of in-store pharmacy services are not limited to customers. “Tesco employees can also avail themselves of the convenience and support offered through our pharmacies and other health-related services,” Tom adds.

“All colleagues have access to virtual GP consultations and additional assistance on topics like sleep therapy, nutrition, fitness, and mental well-being through the Employee Assistance Programme.”
