The ill-fated flight departed from Pampulha Airport in Belo Horizonte at 12:16 pm local time before the crash occurred in the Silveira neighborhood shortly after take-off. Witnesses living near the crash site expressed shock at the low altitude of the aircraft. Fabiana Parreiras recounted hearing the plane flying close by and observed it diverting from her building, foreseeing a tragic outcome.
Reports indicate that the pilot had alerted the control tower at Pampulha Airport about encountering difficulties during take-off.
