Police are currently looking into two separate claims of historical child sexual abuse detailed in the Epstein files. One of the incidents is reported to have taken place in “locations in Surrey and Berkshire” between the mid-1990s and 2000, while the other allegedly occurred in West Surrey during the mid to late 1980s.
Specialist detectives have interviewed the alleged victims, but no arrests have been made nor have any charges been filed. Surrey Police has encouraged any witnesses with information regarding human trafficking or sexual abuse allegations to come forward.
Earlier this year, after a redacted report released by the US Department of Justice in December, which outlined allegations of human trafficking and sexual assault in Virginia Water between 1994 and 1996, Surrey Police called for witnesses to step forward. Various UK police forces are examining the vast amount of information contained in the files.
Surrey Police announced on Tuesday that they are investigating two instances of non-recent child sexual abuse following the disclosure of Epstein files by the US Department of Justice. The cases are related to events in Surrey, Berkshire, and West Surrey during the specified time frames. No arrests have been made at this stage.
Authorities are taking the reports seriously and are actively pursuing any leads to verify the information provided. The US Department of Justice has released millions of pages of documents connected to Epstein, who passed away in 2019 while awaiting trial. In 2022, Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in a US prison for aiding Epstein in the abuse of young girls.
One of the FBI reports from July 2020, partially redacted, detailed claims of being drugged and taken to “paedophile ring parties” near Virginia Water in Surrey during the mid-1990s. While Surrey Police has not confirmed the investigation into these specific claims, they are looking into historical abuse allegations.
The same individual making the claims stated that they were involved in an incident with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, resulting in severe injuries. These claims included being hit by a car driven by Mountbatten-Windsor, leading to permanent injuries. The individual mentioned burying a figurine from the car near their home as potential evidence for the future.
Additional allegations from the same person involved being restrained and tortured with electrical shocks at an address in Berkshire during the same period. The alleged victim reported suffering a broken nose, which was attributed to a rugby match to avoid suspicion.
Moreover, the individual claimed to have been abused by Epstein during family vacations in Florida around the same time frame. Surrey Police refrained from commenting on whether these extraordinary claims are part of the ongoing investigations.
In light of a review of their systems, Surrey Police stated that there is no record of the current allegations being previously reported to them. Mountbatten-Windsor has denied any wrongdoing related to his association with Epstein but was taken into custody in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Thames Valley police are investigating allegations of passing confidential information to Epstein while Mountbatten-Windsor was serving as a government trade envoy.
Furthermore, Lord Mandelson, the former UK ambassador to the US, is under investigation by the Met Police for supposed misconduct in public office. This investigation is centered on claims of sharing confidential information with Epstein during Mandelson’s tenure as Tony Blair’s business secretary.
Attempts to reach out to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s representatives for a response have been made by The Mirror.
