Two funeral homes in Lancashire were recently targeted in police raids, resulting in the arrest of two individuals suspected of fraud by false representation. The operations, carried out at two Martin’s Funeral Directors establishments located at Tulketh Brow in Ashton-on-Ribble and Stonebridge Parade in Longridge, were accompanied by searches at a private residence in The Friars in Fulwood.

The raid at Tulketh Brow saw a significant police presence on Tuesday afternoon, with forensic officers and a canine unit on site, as per Lancashire Live’s report. The crackdown followed concerns raised earlier this month regarding certain practices at Martin’s Funeral Directors, prompting the police intervention.

A man in his 60s and a woman in her 50s, both residents of Preston, have been apprehended and are presently held in custody for interrogation. Lancashire Police refrained from providing further details, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.

Individuals with relevant information or concerns are urged to contact the authorities at 101, quoting log 0212 of April 28 for reference.
