A pedestrian, aged 64, tragically lost his life after being struck by a road sweeper in a suburb of Salford. The incident occurred on Cleggs Lane in Little Hulton yesterday morning, prompting a swift response from multiple emergency services. Following the incident around 8 am, the police cordoned off Cleggs Lane.

The Greater Manchester Police have officially announced that the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries in the hospital yesterday afternoon. Reports from Manchester Evening News indicate that the man sustained severe and life-threatening injuries in the accident.

Fortunately, the 39-year-old driver of the road sweeper emerged from the incident unharmed. Investigations are currently ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has footage of it to come forward and assist with the investigation.

Last October in Leicester, a similar incident occurred where Sardar Joginder Sing Ji, in his 80s, was fatally struck by a road sweeper owned by Leicester City Council. Initially, a man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving but was subsequently released pending further investigation.
