Police are still on the lookout for a man who disappeared at a lake yesterday, with police divers and helicopters reportedly assisting in the search. The incident occurred on Sunday evening at Llyn Geirionydd, a 45-acre lake located in Snowdonia, Wales. Emergency services were alerted around 7.10pm, and despite extensive searches overnight, the man has not been located yet, with his family informed of the situation.
Search efforts are ongoing at the lake, with an increased presence of emergency services involved in the operation. Witnesses observed a helicopter circling the lake at approximately 8pm, and there were reports of a significant emergency response, including the presence of police divers at the scene.
Notably, just 11 days ago, the body of a 21-year-old man was recovered from the same lake. Llyn Geirionydd is a popular spot for water sports enthusiasts, attracting kayakers and being the only lake in Eryri National Park where speedboats are allowed.
North Wales Police has advised the public to avoid the area while the search continues, emphasizing support for the immediate family of the missing man. They have requested anyone present at the lake on the evening of the incident who has not yet spoken to the police to come forward and provide any relevant information.
