A 45-year-old man, Simon Peter Carman, is facing charges for the murder of 17-year-old Tunchanok Donhomla in Pattaya, Thailand. Carman allegedly strangled the teenager following a dispute over payment for sexual services on June 25, concealing her body in his apartment. During this time, Carman was reportedly in communication with a local sex worker via WhatsApp, discussing plans for the day. The sex worker became alarmed upon hearing of Carman’s arrest in connection with the alleged murder.
Security footage captured Carman and Tunchanok entering his apartment together, with this being the last sighting of the teenager alive. It is reported that they had agreed on a fee for services, but Carman attempted to pay less, leading to an argument. Carman admitted to investigators that he may have inadvertently caused the teenager’s death during a struggle, after which he panicked and hid her body in a suitcase for a day before disposing of it.
Despite denying the murder accusation and claiming self-defense due to a perceived threat with a knife, Carman was observed leaving his accommodation with a large suitcase, which was later found to contain Tunchanok’s body. He was subsequently apprehended at an airport while attempting to flee the country. Tunchanok’s family expressed shock and grief over her tragic death, recalling her as a caring and independent individual. Her parents shared their devastation at the unforeseen turn of events, with her father emphasizing her helpful and resourceful nature.
