Twin siblings were discovered deceased while embracing each other, having suffered fatal electrocution. Francesco and Giacomo Fierloni, aged 22, tragically lost their lives when they unintentionally came into contact with high-voltage cables using a metal rod. It is suspected that one of the brothers perished while trying to rescue the other.
The young men, residents of Magione, Italy, were in the midst of training their pet birds for the upcoming hunting season when the incident took place. A pigeon landed on cables carrying approximately 20,000 volts, positioned about 10 meters above ground level. One of the twins utilized a carbon-fiber pole, commonly employed in hunting, in an effort to guide the bird down.
Inadvertently, he made contact with the live wires, leading to his immediate demise. His sibling is believed to have attempted to assist but met the same tragic fate. Upon their failure to return home and respond to calls that evening, their father, Giorgio, went out in search of them.
The twins’ whereabouts were traced, and they were found lying side by side in tall grass beneath a slope. The brothers were entwined in an embrace, as reported by the Sun. Medical personnel endeavored to revive the twins, who were only a month away from turning 23.
The town mayor, Massimo Lagetti, had a personal connection with the twins. Lagetti remarked, “They were two outstanding young individuals who displayed immense dedication and kindness.” He added, “It is an extremely challenging tragedy to comprehend.”
Their parents conveyed to local media, “Francesco and Giacomo were our pillars, our present, and our future.” They further expressed, “Born together and departed together, united by a bond transcending mere brotherhood.” An inquiry is currently in progress to ascertain the precise circumstances surrounding the incident.
