“Double Standards in Weather Warnings: Trump vs. Starmer”

Donald Trump faces allegations of double standards as the White House criticizes Keir Starmer for purportedly endangering lives by influencing the timing of England’s recent World Cup match kickoff. Interestingly, Trump himself ignored weather warnings just a day prior to draw a crowd for his Fourth of July speech.

Amid concerns of a thunderstorm, calls were made to reschedule the England-Mexico match on Sunday, fearing potential lightning disruptions. Ultimately, the game started an hour late due to inclement weather conditions.

Andrew Giuliani, son of former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani and head of the White House World Cup task force, responded to accusations of Trump pressuring FIFA to lift a ban on Team USA striker Folarin Balogun before their clash with Belgium.

Giuliani pointed out Starmer’s alleged interference in the match schedule, emphasizing an incident in which three individuals died during post-match celebrations, though unrelated to weather issues.

Furthermore, Trump himself admitted overturning a decision to cancel his Fourth of July address in Washington DC due to weather concerns, asserting that he awaited the return of the crowd after the weather scare.

Critics, including Lib Dem culture spokesperson Anna Sabine, lambasted the White House for perceived hypocrisy, highlighting Trump’s similar actions to safeguard his Fourth of July fireworks display.

Despite lightning flashes during the fireworks show, no casualties were reported. However, a dozen individuals sought medical attention due to extreme temperatures during the heatwave that swept through the US capital on that day.
