“Canadian Home Sales Dip in July, Prices Hold Steady”

Home sales in July showed a decrease compared to the same period last year but saw a slight increase from the previous month, as reported by the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA). The total number of home sales in July was 43,578, marking a 5.3% decline from the previous year. However, when seasonally adjusted, the activity rose by 0.5% compared to June 2026.

CREA’s senior economist, Shaun Cathcart, mentioned that beneath the national figures, various markets across the country are gradually moving towards a state of equilibrium. The average selling price of homes in July was $674,819, representing a 0.2% increase year-over-year.

New listings in July decreased by 1.6% compared to the previous month, according to CREA’s data analysis.
