Gordon Brown is calling for the police to re-examine Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor regarding his associations with Jeffrey Epstein and the use of public funds while serving as the UK’s trade envoy. According to the former Prime Minister, Mr. Brown, the ex-Prince was questioned by a business minister during his tenure as PM about the excessive costs incurred in his role from 2001 to 2011.

In an interview with the New Statesman magazine, Brown emphasized the need for a thorough police investigation into the management of Mountbatten-Windsor’s official trips as a UK trade envoy. Brown highlighted concerns over potential breaches of the Official Secrets Act, misuse of public funds, and allegations of women being trafficked to various locations by Epstein.

Brown revealed that he had advised against the royal family establishing its own fleet of planes, which Mountbatten-Windsor had proposed, and discussed this matter with the late Queen. Furthermore, Brown urged for a broader police inquiry into the former Duke of York’s ties to Epstein, including alleged instances of sexual abuse.

The former Labour leader stressed the importance of examining the involvement of government departments such as the Ministry of Defence, the Department for Business and Trade, and the Foreign Office in managing Mountbatten-Windsor’s trips as a trade envoy. Brown also mentioned the necessity for transparency on how public funds were utilized, especially in relation to the ex-Prince’s travel arrangements.

Brown highlighted the significance of upholding the law and ensuring accountability, proposing that a parliamentary select committee scrutinize the use of public funds and investigate any potential cover-ups that might have hindered US investigators from questioning Andrew. He emphasized the importance of seeking justice for Epstein’s victims and eradicating abuse of power, both in the UK and globally.

Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently denied any misconduct, stating that his inclusion in the Epstein files does not imply wrongdoing. Requests for comments from the former prince’s representatives are pending.
