Police are conducting searches at three locations in South Cheshire in response to allegations of severe sexual abuse, modern slavery, and forced marriages. The operations are currently underway in Crewe following concerns raised about the activities associated with the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light group, which combines aspects of Islam with conspiracy theories involving the Illuminati and extraterrestrial control over US leaders.
Authorities, including officers from Cheshire Police and neighboring forces, are executing warrants at the mentioned addresses. A spokesperson from Cheshire Police confirmed the ongoing actions and emphasized that the investigation focuses on the reported serious offenses rather than targeting the religious beliefs of the individuals involved.
Chief Superintendent Gareth Wrigley clarified that the arrests made are linked to the group members and reiterated the commitment to address all reports of sexual offenses seriously. The operation, involving over 500 officers, commenced early in the morning, leading to the arrest of multiple individuals. Detectives are currently conducting searches at the sites following the apprehensions.
The allegations of serious crimes, including sexual offenses, forced marriages, and modern slavery, involving the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light group in Crewe, were brought to the attention of Cheshire Police in March. The incidents, reported to have occurred in 2023, reportedly affected a single female victim associated with the group at that time.
Following a thorough investigation, the police executed warrants at three addresses in Crewe, including Webb House, resulting in the arrest of multiple individuals. Authorities have assured residents of the wider community’s safety and increased patrols for reassurance. If anyone has concerns, they are encouraged to reach out to the officers for assistance.
