A 24-year-old British tourist passed away in Tenerife, possibly remaining unnoticed for hours. Sources revealed that he was on vacation with a friend from Poland when he fell down a stairwell at the Parque Santiago 2 apartment complex. The incident occurred in Playa de las Americas around 5:30 am on Saturday but was only disclosed later.
The tragic event happened at a complex known as Parque Santiago 2, comprising mainly privately-owned holiday apartments. Located in the quieter section of Playa de Las Americas, the complex offers amenities such as a pool and is close to the beach, shops, and restaurants.
The victim, a young man on the second floor, fell to his death “face first.” Spanish National Police confirmed his British nationality and stated that the case is currently not considered a crime. Initial indications point towards a tragic accident pending the full autopsy results.
Emergency services were informed by a Spanish individual shortly before 6 am on Saturday, although the victim likely fell around 2:30 am, remaining undiscovered for over three hours. The man had attended a music festival the day before the incident.
The deceased’s friend was asleep when the incident occurred and was notified hours later. The exact circumstances of the fall are still under investigation, with a police report already submitted to a local court for further examination.
The British holidaymaker had attended an electronic music festival in Costa Adeje on the same day. The event, Eastenderz Tenerife, is associated with the London-based electronic music brand and global event series founded by DJ East End Dubs in 2014.
Authorities are working on the hypothesis that the tourist left his fourth-floor apartment during the night before the fatal fall on the stairs. The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of a local court.
