Aldi is set to introduce 24 new stores in various locations throughout the UK, with 16 of them expected to open in the near future. The budget-friendly supermarket chain has also applied for planning permission for stores at eight additional sites across the country, including a proposed £7 million branch at Wirral Waters in Seacombe, Merseyside.
Known for its affordability, Aldi consistently ranks as one of the UK’s most economical supermarkets and has been steadily expanding its presence in recent years. Surpassing Morrisons, Aldi now holds the position of the fourth-largest supermarket chain in the UK.
In addition to the eight potential locations, Aldi has confirmed plans to establish 16 more stores in the coming months, as reported by the Express. Jonathan Neale, the managing director of national real estate at Aldi UK, expressed that their £370 million investment in new stores this year aims to bring Aldi’s exceptional value to more communities while supporting local economies through competitive wages for employees.
