A teenager named Euan Lonnen showed quick thinking as he intervened to prevent a car from crashing with two women inside. The incident was captured on CCTV footage at a cafe where Euan was working.
Euan noticed a driverless vehicle slowly moving across a parking lot with two women seated in the back. Without hesitation, he chased after the car. Initially attempting to steer the car, Euan realized the steering wheel was locked as the keys had been removed. Acting swiftly, he entered the car and pulled the handbrake just in time to stop it from colliding with another parked car.
Describing his actions, Euan recounted being alerted by a customer about the unmanned car in motion. Despite the tense situation, his decision to get into the car and engage the handbrake averted a potential disaster, leaving everyone involved understandably shaken but unharmed.
The commendable act by Euan garnered praise from customers and colleagues at the Highland Farm Cafe in Dingwall, Scotland, where he was working as a supervisor. The cafe owners, Kenneth and Lesley, shared the CCTV footage online, receiving an outpouring of support and appreciation for Euan’s heroism.
Kenneth expressed pride in Euan’s quick response, emphasizing his dedication to customer safety. The elderly passengers onboard were also saved from harm due to Euan’s decisive actions, preventing what could have been a dangerous situation.
