A young kickboxing world champion is facing allegations of homicide as he prepares for his upcoming trial. Tyler Ford, an 18-year-old from Morriston, Swansea, appeared in Swansea Crown Court accused of the murder of 18-year-old Ceiran Evans from Gorseinon, who tragically passed away in a road accident.
In addition to the murder charge, Ford has also been accused of attempting to murder another individual. Despite being a nine-time world kickboxing champion, Ford remained silent in court except to confirm his identity. The court scheduled a plea and case management hearing for September 29, with a two-week trial set to commence on January 11.
The presiding Judge, Paul Thomas KC, remanded Ford in custody and fixed the next hearing for September 29, emphasizing that the defendant would remain detained. The charges stem from a collision involving a car and an off-road bike on Pen Cae Crwn Road in Gorseinon on July 9.
The family of the deceased, Ceiran Evans, expressed their profound grief, describing him as a beloved individual whose kindness, humor, and smile touched the lives of many. They remembered him as their cherished son, vowing to keep his memory alive forever.
