The United Kingdom is bracing for record-breaking high temperatures this June, with a possibility of hitting the highest temperature ever recorded in the country. However, heavy rainfall is also expected in certain areas.

The Met Office predicts that temperatures could soar to 37C today, potentially reaching 39C tomorrow. Weather alerts in red and amber have been issued for England and Wales, cautioning that temperatures of up to 40C might be achievable.

According to the latest forecasts from the Met Office, temperatures could peak at 34C in the north and 38C in the south on Friday. Despite the heat, heavy rain is anticipated in the morning based on the agency’s updated weather maps.

In the early hours, significant rainfall is projected in northern and central Scotland as well as along the border of England and Wales. Showers are also forecasted in northeastern areas later in the morning, with central Scotland expected to experience the most intense rainfall.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, the Met Office anticipates rain and thunderstorms in north-west Scotland. While coastal regions along the North Sea might encounter low cloud cover and fog, most areas are expected to remain exceptionally hot.

For the weekend, the Met Office foresees another hot day in the east on Friday. Cooler conditions will gradually move in from the west over the weekend, accompanied by periods of rain and thundery showers.

The BBC’s weekend weather forecast indicates that Friday and Saturday will remain very hot and humid, with temperatures cooling off by Sunday. While sunny conditions are expected throughout, there is a risk of scattered thunderstorms on Friday morning and Saturday afternoon and evening, with a slight chance of showers on Sunday as well.
