Prince Harry’s absence at the wedding of Peter Phillips and NHS nurse Harriet Sperling has been highlighted by a Royal expert as a clear indication of the deepening divide within his family.

Peter Phillips, Princess Anne’s son, exchanged vows with the nurse in a small ceremony at All Saints Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire. Notable members of the royal family, including King Charles, Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and Zara Tindall, graced the event.

Despite Prince Harry’s past closeness with his cousin Peter, he notably did not attend the wedding, marking a significant absence. Speculations suggest that the Duke of Sussex and Peter have not communicated for years, raising questions about whether Harry was even invited to the ceremony.

Jennie Bond, a former BBC royal correspondent, emphasized that Harry’s nonattendance exemplifies the widening gap between him and his family. She noted that Harry’s presence at the funeral of his uncle, Lord Fellowes, two years ago did not bridge the silence between him and his brother, Prince William.

Bond remarked that the unity displayed by the royal family at the wedding contrasts with recent controversies surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his association with Epstein Files. She described the event as a much-needed joyful occasion demonstrating familial unity despite recent negative publicity.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who have maintained a low public profile amid scrutiny of their father Andrew, were commended for attending the wedding, with Bond labeling their presence as courageous. She praised their discreet demeanor, focusing on the happiness of the newlyweds.

Additionally, Bond highlighted the charming presence of Harriet Sperling and her daughters at the royal affair, noting the graceful demeanor displayed by Harriet, who stood out even on a rainy June day.
