Young individuals starting their careers will receive additional assistance through a new collaboration involving the government, industry, and trade unions. The Early Careers Jobs Alliance, co-chaired by Mike Clancy from Prospect and Katie Gallagher OBE, will focus on the impact of AI on entry-level positions. This initiative, supported by £20 million, will be unveiled at the world’s first AI Adoption Summit. It includes an AI bootcamp program across England to offer opportunities for young people at risk of unemployment or disengagement from education.

Liz Kendall, the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation, and Technology, emphasized the importance of preparing young people for the evolving job market by providing necessary skills and support. Similarly, Pat McFadden, the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, highlighted the need to ensure that all young individuals have access to meaningful career pathways in the face of technological advancements. Through initiatives like the Youth Guarantee, efforts are being made to equip young people with the tech and AI skills essential for seizing opportunities in the changing economy.
