A tragic incident occurred in Belgium this morning as a passenger train collided with a school bus, resulting in multiple injuries and potential fatalities.

The collision took place at a railway crossing on Stationsstraat in Buggenhout at approximately 8:15am local time. According to rail operator Infrabel, the crossing barriers were down and warning lights were operational at the time of the accident.

Reports indicate that the train, carrying around 100 passengers en route from Bruges, successfully evacuated all passengers following the collision. One individual received treatment for shock as a precautionary measure.

Sources on-site informed Reuters that a minibus utilized for school transportation was involved in the collision, resulting in several fatalities. The tragic incident unfolded in Buggenhout, East Flanders, Belgium.
