A group of police officers in Thailand went undercover in drag costumes to apprehend a drug smuggler at a street dance festival in Lopburi province. The operation, led by Police Colonel Panthep Panadi, resulted in the arrest of the suspect, Mekha Fa-wap-wap, who was found in possession of methamphetamine pills, plastic bags for drug distribution, and a mobile phone.
The police officers, disguised in colorful outfits, surprised attendees by swiftly taking down the criminal. Fa-wap-wap is now facing charges related to drug trafficking and operating an illegal gambling machine. The suspect is currently in police custody awaiting legal proceedings.
The police officers shared a photo on social media showing the suspect and themselves in their costumes, garnering over a thousand likes and 130 comments. In response to users’ comments on the suspect’s name, the police engaged with humor, showcasing their light-hearted approach to law enforcement.
This unconventional tactic is not new for Thai police, who previously used dragon costumes to apprehend a thief involved in stealing Buddhist artifacts. Video footage captured the arrest, highlighting the effectiveness of such unique strategies in catching criminals.
