The body of a serving police officer, identified as Stuart Graham, was found on a beach in Northern Ireland over the weekend. Stuart Graham, a member of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), was discovered on Whiterocks beach in County Antrim on Sunday.
Following the discovery, emergency services responded, establishing a cordon and advising the public to avoid the area. A service in memory of Stuart Graham is scheduled to take place this weekend in Belfast after the tragic incident, as reported by Belfast Live.
A funeral notice for Stuart Graham mentions his beloved wife, Nicola, children Amelia and Dylan, parents Margaret and Alex, sister Cheryl and her husband Alan, and sister Lesley. The notice also suggests that donations in place of flowers can be sent directly to Portrush RNLI.
Alderman Richard Brown Stewart, the deputy mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, described the incident as a “shocking discovery for the town.” He expressed his sadness and extended condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
The PSNI spokesperson stated that the police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of the man found on Whiterocks beach. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death, which is currently not deemed suspicious.
