A search is ongoing at a popular vacation spot in Cyprus following the reported abduction of a young child from his British mother’s residence. The distressed mother alerted authorities after the child’s father, accused of taking the toddler, allegedly entered the property with an accomplice at the coastal holiday destination.

Law enforcement has issued a statement as their search escalates, focusing on tracing the possible path taken by the suspects. Local media reports indicate that the woman is a participant in the Hope program, which offers assistance to victims of domestic violence.

The missing British toddler was taken by his father from Limassol, Cyprus, a major urban area located on the southern coast and frequented by tourists worldwide. The child was allegedly taken from the mother’s home in this popular vacation spot.

Authorities have examined a suspected getaway vehicle as they intensify efforts to locate the child. It is reported that a 29-year-old Turkish Cypriot man seized the two-year-old, illegally crossing from the northern Turkish-occupied territories of the island.

The father, who was already the subject of an arrest warrant due to previous domestic violence reports by the mother, is believed to have returned to the Turkish-occupied north of the island. Specialized units have been called in to track his movements.

Police are looking into a social media video posted by the father, showing him with the child in a vehicle. The father, accompanied by another man, allegedly stormed the house early Wednesday morning, taking the child and fleeing in a small white car.

Local reports suggest that the child’s mother is part of the Hope program, which provides assistance to victims of domestic abuse, including an alert button for immediate police intervention in case of danger.
