A daring hiker left a poignant voicemail for his father just before encountering a bear. Anthony Pollio, 33, went missing while on a solo hiking trip at Glacier National Park in Montana, USA. His body was later found in a remote wooded area, indicating a bear attack. Pollio, a university graduate, had shared his hiking plans to reach the Mount Brown Fire Lookout.

Search teams, including National Park rangers and police, located Pollio’s body off the Mount Brown Trail. Glacier National Park officials stated that the bear encounter investigation is ongoing but appeared to be unexpected. The trail has been closed temporarily for further inquiries.

Pollio’s father, Arthur, revealed that his son left a heartfelt voicemail expressing love while on the hiking trail. Described as fearless and experienced in outdoor activities, Pollio was believed to have encountered a grizzly bear. Authorities found bear spray among his possessions, indicating his preparedness for wildlife encounters.

Known for his passion for nature and adventure, Pollio, a service adviser and church deacon from Florida, tragically faced the first fatal bear attack in Glacier National Park since 1998. The incident follows a recent bear attack in Yellowstone National Park, where two hikers were injured.
