Amanda Knox is determined not to be intimidated as she prepares for her upcoming show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The 38-year-old, previously convicted and later acquitted of the murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher, will be showcasing her first full-length comedy performance at the renowned event this summer, despite facing criticism labeling it as offensive.

Acknowledging her nerves about the performance, Amanda expressed her motivation to confront her detractors. She emphasized her desire to not be silenced by those who have wronged her, stating that she has a significant message to convey, particularly regarding the challenges faced by women globally.

Amanda, formerly a student in Italy, was initially convicted of the murder in 2009 and sentenced to 26 years in prison. Her conviction was overturned in 2011, but subsequent legal proceedings led to further convictions and acquittals, with the Italian Supreme Court ultimately clearing her of the murder in 2015.

Her show at the Edinburgh Fringe, titled Cartwheel, addresses the misconception that she performed cartwheels during police interrogation. Amanda, hailing from Seattle, Washington, emphasized the importance of survivors sharing their stories without facing undue criticism or pressure to remain silent.

Despite facing backlash, Amanda has found support from individuals like executive TV producer Monica Lewinsky, who argues for the empowerment of women like Amanda to speak without shame. Amanda remains optimistic about presenting her story at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, hoping for a fair reception and understanding from the audience.
