A woman has been sentenced to nine years in prison for orchestrating a deadly acid attack on her former spouse. Paris Wilson, aged 35, played a significant role in planning the violent assault on Danny Cahalane, where sulphuric acid was thrown on him at his residence on Lipson Road, Plymouth, on February 21, 2025.
Mr. Cahalane, a 38-year-old father of two, sustained severe injuries from the attack and tragically passed away on May 3 of the following year after spending weeks in the hospital. Wilson, who was found guilty of manslaughter and attempted kidnapping, but acquitted of murder, received her sentence after a lengthy trial at Winchester Crown Court.
Furthermore, Ramarnee Bakas, 24, from Islington, London, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for manslaughter. Abdulrasheed Adedoja, 23, from Neasden, London, and Israel Augustus, 27, from Tottenham, London, were each given 31 and 30-year sentences, respectively, for their involvement in the murder.
During the sentencing, Wilson broke down in tears as Ms. Justice Heather Norton emphasized that Wilson was fully aware of the potential consequences of an acid attack. The judge remarked that Wilson’s actions were driven by self-interest, whether it was for financial gain, security, or vengeance.
It was disclosed that Mr. Cahalane, a personal trainer and drug dealer, had a debt of approximately £120,000 to an international crime syndicate, which he had been gambling with. Prior to the fatal attack, Mr. Cahalane had narrowly escaped a kidnapping attempt by three individuals in January.
The fatal acid assault occurred in the early hours of February 21st at Mr. Cahalane’s residence in Lipson Road, Plymouth, while his young daughter was asleep upstairs. The attack left him with severe facial injuries from the corrosive substance.
