The recent conflict in the Strait of Hormuz between the US and Iran seems to have de-escalated, with reports suggesting both parties have agreed to temporarily cease hostilities. An unnamed US official mentioned that technical discussions related to the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on June 17 will continue, allowing vessels to move freely. Iran has not officially confirmed its cessation of strikes.

Following a drone attack on a cargo ship in the area, the US conducted retaliatory airstrikes on Iran. US President Donald Trump criticized the drone attack as a breach of the Ceasefire Agreement in a social media post. Subsequently, the US military targeted Iranian drone and missile facilities, as well as coastal radar sites, as confirmed by US Central Command (CENTCOM).
